Under the premise of anti-corrosion construction for cooling towers, what preparatory work do we need to do? Firstly, safety work. Since this construction operation is a high-altitude operation and is difficult, we must make preventive preparations before construction. In addition, safety is the first priority, and quality should also keep up. The following three aspects can better understand the precautions we need to pay attention to before conducting anti-corrosion construction for cooling towers:
1、 Preparation before construction, as mentioned above, as it is a high-altitude operation, we must strictly implement the protective measures in the early stage according to the requirements. Check if there are any quality issues or safety hazards with protective products such as safety belts, helmets, safety ropes, and construction hanging baskets. Before entering the operation immediately, check if the operation meets safety requirements and advise against any safety hazards. Take preventive measures. Construction permit must be obtained before. Otherwise, construction cannot be carried out. Continuous production units (which cannot stop production) must obtain approval from the production unit before construction can proceed.
2、 The focus of our work on surface treatment of the main body this time is anti-corrosion construction. The reason why surface treatment is extremely important is whether the surface treatment can be done well, which is completely different from whether the anti-corrosion work can be done well in the later stage, including whether the dirt on the main body is cleaned up, oil stains, whether the main surface is damaged, and so on. These are all important things that we need to do in the early stage of surface treatment, For example, when removing rust, it is necessary to eliminate the use of mechanical sandblasting and other electric equipment such as grinding wheels. We can adopt manual rust removal and chemical rust removal. In addition, the following points can also be used as reference standards for implementation:
1. When treating the old paint on the surface, alloy steel shovels should be used as much as possible.
2. Try to use steel wire balls to wipe back and forth when encountering dead corners, and try to clean every corner as quickly as possible.
3. Use acetone or other volatile cleaning agents to remove oil, tar, and other dirt from the surface of the gas holder. After cleaning, the surface should be dry, free of oil and dirt.
4. To ensure a suitable roughness of the metal surface, after the above surface treatment work is completed, the metal surface can be polished with No. 1 or No. 2 sandcloth, and then cleaned with cotton cloth.
5. After all surface treatment is completed. If there is a surface treatment acceptance process under the terms signed by both parties, after acceptance by both parties, the construction party can apply two coats of epoxy asphalt primer (MH-855-1 brown) on the main surface to prevent moisture and rust.
